These terms are the agreement between you and RoadSnap for use of its website and app. By creating an account or using RoadSnap, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. Who we are
RoadSnap ("RoadSnap", "we", "us") is a tool for building and maintaining roadmaps and issue trees. It is run by Loon Island Group, inc., of 349 Av. Kensington, Westmount, Québec, Canada, H3Z 2H2. Reach us at hello@roadsnap.app.
2. Your account
- You sign in with your email and a one-time code; there is no password. Keep your email account secure: anyone who can receive your code can sign in.
- You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Your content is yours
You keep all rights to the roadmaps and content you create in RoadSnap. We do not claim ownership of it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the service for you. That means storing, processing, backing up and displaying your content so RoadSnap works and syncs across your devices. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it.
You can export your content at any time from the app, as a spreadsheet, Markdown or the native file format. You are never locked in.
4. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- break the law, or use RoadSnap to store or share unlawful content;
- try to access other users' accounts or data, or probe, scan or breach our security (our Security page says how to report a vulnerability responsibly);
- disrupt or overload the service, or try to get around limits or protections;
- resell or redistribute the service without our permission.
5. Plans, pricing and payment
The Free plan is free permanently and needs no payment card. The paid plans, Pro and Team, are priced on our pricing section. The plan you are on is shown in the app under Plan & billing.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax that applies where you are. Where we must charge tax, it is shown at checkout and on the invoice before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly or annually, whichever you chose — until you cancel.
- One subscription covers every workspace you own. It belongs to the person who pays and applies to every workspace that person owns. You do not buy again for a second workspace. Only the person who pays can change or cancel it.
- Team plans are charged per seat, and a seat is a person who can edit. Seats are counted once per person across all the workspaces you own; readers (viewers) take no seat. Having anyone else in a workspace, in any role, needs Team. When your seats are all taken and you invite somebody who needs one, the invitation is refused and the price is shown. A seat is added only if you agree, prorated onto your next invoice. Removing somebody, or making them a reader, frees the seat.
- Read-only share links are free on every plan, including Free, and are not seats.
- Cancelling is self-service and takes one step, from Plan & billing. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing is clawed back. Your content is not deleted: paid features stop, and everything you made stays readable and exportable.
- Changing plan is prorated. Moving between Pro and Team keeps any offer on your subscription. The change is prorated onto your next invoice: you are credited for what you have not used and charged the difference. Switching between monthly and annual is done from the billing portal.
- Before any first charge you are warned. Where your plan begins with a free period, the checkout page states the date it ends and the amount then charged. We also email you about a week beforehand, so the charge is never the first you hear of it.
- If we change a price, the new price applies from your next renewal, never mid-period. We will tell you before it takes effect.
- Every invoice is emailed when issued and can be downloaded from Plan & billing at any time.
- Refunds. Our practice is on the Support page and we stand behind it. A charge taken by mistake, or a failure of ours we could not fix, is refunded. This is in addition to any refund or cancellation right you have under consumer-protection law.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages; we never see or store them. Your agreement for the service itself stays with us.
Invitation and discount codes
We run two separate offers:
- Invited founder and Lions codes — given personally to a small number of early testers. They give a full year at no charge on the plan you choose, and 50% off for as long as you stay afterwards. No payment card is asked for at signup. You are prompted for one before the free year ends; if none is given, the subscription does not silently lapse into a charge.
- Public early-adopter discount — a promotion code entered at checkout. It gives a stated percentage off for a stated number of months, limited in number. The terms shown beside the code when you use it apply.
Codes are checked when you use them. If one is not recognised, checkout stops and says so rather than quietly charging the full price. Codes are personal, and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. We may withdraw an unredeemed offer where misused.
6. Availability
We work to keep RoadSnap available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Your roadmaps are also stored in your browser, so you can keep working if briefly offline. You can always export a copy.
RoadSnap is built and run to be available around the clock. Availability is measured every minute by an independent third party and published, unedited, at our status page. As is usual for self-serve plans, there is no service-level agreement. Availability commitments with service credits are available under an enterprise agreement — write to hello@roadsnap.app.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoadSnap is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer-protection law in Québec. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is capped. The cap is the greater of what you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $100.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using RoadSnap whenever you like. Closing your account is self-service — Plan & billing → Close my account. Access and any subscription end at once, and everything is deleted 30 days later. Inside those 30 days you can sign in and reopen it. Closing is refused while you own a workspace that other people are in, so that one person leaving cannot delete another’s work. privacy@roadsnap.app is there for anyone who would rather a person did it.
Export first. Each roadmap downloads as a .roadsnap.json file: a complete copy,
independent of us, in one click.
We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached, or where needed to protect the service or other users. On termination you may export your content. See the Privacy Policy for how long data is kept.
8a. Business customers and data protection
Where you use RoadSnap in the course of a business and your content includes personal information about other people, you are the controller. We process that information on your instructions. Our Data Processing Agreement sets out that relationship in full. It forms part of these terms automatically when you accept them; there is nothing to sign and nothing to request. Wherever the two differ on the processing of personal information, it governs. If your records need a countersigned copy, or you want to propose a change, write to privacy@roadsnap.app.

9. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may change or improve the service over time. We may also update these terms. When we make material changes we will update the "last updated" date and take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use RoadSnap after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. The courts of Québec have jurisdiction. Both are without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
